What Is AAMFT-Approved Supervision?

AAMFT-Approved Supervision ensures that your hours meet LMFT licensure requirements while supporting the development of your clinical competence and professional identity. My approach helps you integrate MFT theory into practice, refine case conceptualization, and build confidence as a therapist.

My Approach

Supervision balances directive guidance with collaboration. Key focus areas include:

  • Systemic and relational case conceptualization

  • Couple and family therapy interventions

  • Ethical decision-making and risk assessment

  • Self-of-the-therapist development

You can expect direct, constructive feedback in a supportive environment that encourages growth and accountability.

Clinical & Academic Background

I bring experience from private practice, community mental health, and pediatric medical settings, and currently teach and supervise in the Couple & Family Therapy master’s program at the University of Rhode Island. This allows me to support supervisees working with diverse client populations, from high-acuity families to high-functioning couples. Learn more about my experience here.

Who I Work Best With

Supervisees who are reflective, motivated, and committed to developing systemic thinking thrive in supervision. I tailor guidance to your stage of training, whether in practicum or post-graduate hours, and focus on strengthening competence in couple and family therapy.
